Our Project Management Philosophy
Our project managers bring a deep background of building experience, finely tuned instincts, and aggressive solutions to every project. We have a proven track record of responding quickly and efficiently to the pressures associated with procurement of materials, scheduling of work, and budget constraints. These skills allow our managers to "fast track" building projects, resulting in time and financial economies for the client.
Our project managers also have strong motivational skills and positive rapport with sub-contractors utilized on-site. All of these factors help ensure high quality craftsmanship, as well as completing the job on time, and on budget, with a minimum of call back or punch list items.
Unlike many general contractors who act primarily as brokers for building projects, Kurtz, Inc.'s "self-performing" capabilities allow us to be highly competitive in pricing and to retain a greater degree of control over work schedules for completion of the variable tasks. Our in-house services include framing, wood carpentry, masonry, concrete, and a commercial cabinetry shop.
Kurtz, Inc. remains very competitive in concrete work due to our ownership of one of the few concrete pumps in Western Massachusetts. Examples of specialized concrete work Kurtz, Inc. has completed include the refacing of the Knightville Dam, the Amelia Skate Park, as well as work on concrete water containment tanks. In addition, we are certified to do historical masonry repairs and offer over 30 years of this specialization through the professional background of Kurtz, Inc. president, Gene Kurtz.
